Things to do in Zante island , Greece
Visit the legendary Blue Caves. You can avoid the bigger trips which rush visitors and their cameras to the 'Wreck' beach, and far just 7 euros take a small glass-bottom boat from Skinari. These smaller boats go right inside the caves and you can even swim from them, weather permitting
Take the daily ferry to Kefalonia from the harbour of Agios Nikolaos. Only 8 miles away and most days clearly visible, this largely undeveloped island provided the film set for the novel Captain Corelli's Mandolin
Hire a car and tour the interior ofthe island, visiting the monasteries and old town of Volimes where some afthe original Venetian houses survived the earthquake, and where the viewing point for Wreck beach gives a perfect photo opportunity without the crowds.
